Two Israeli tourists killed in car crash in Sinai

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the death of two Israeli tourists and the injury of five others in a traffic accident in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on Thursday.

The Israeli Emergency Service stated that the wounded had been taken to Israel and that their injuries were not serious.

South Sinai has been popular with Israeli tourists for years, as they can travel there without a visa, which is not the case with mainland Egypt.

The Israel Airports Authority announced that 1.4 million Israelis crossed Sinai by car in 2019.

She added that more than 330,000 Israeli tourists arrived in Egypt this year through early June.
