Iranian border guards announced today, Saturday, the killing of two soldiers of the border regiment in the city of Salmas, West Azerbaijan province, while patrolling the Iranian-Turkish border.
The border guards said that the patrol had an accident without specifying its circumstances, adding that more detailed information about the incident would be provided by the competent authorities.
This came days after two Iranian border guards were killed in clashes with militants who were trying to enter Iranian territory in the border region of Kurdistan province in the west of the country.
