Turkish-Russian talks in Moscow on safe traffic in the Black Sea

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that representatives of the defense departments of Russia and Turkey discussed in Moscow the issues of the safe exit of Turkish merchant ships and the transportation of grain from Ukrainian ports.

The statement of the ministry, released today, on Wednesday, says: On June 21, negotiations were held in Moscow between two delegations of the Russian Defense Ministry and the Turkish Ministry of National Defense. The parties discussed issues of the safe exit of Turkish merchant ships and the transportation of grain from Ukrainian ports, as well as positions on ensuring safe movement in the Black Sea.

The statement added that the two delegations pointed to the importance of bilateral cooperation to ensure a safe exit from the port of Mariupol, including the exit of the Turkish tanker Azov Concorde.

He added that an agreement was reached at the meeting to continue bilateral consultations.
