Turkish media: trilateral summit in Moscow of the Foreign Ministers of Russia, Turkey and Iran

Turkish media have speculated that the Turkish and Iranian foreign ministers will travel to Moscow on Tuesday to hold a trilateral summit with their Russian counterparts to discuss a settlement in Syria.

The media pointed out that observers in Turkey emphasize that the visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahian to Ankara is very important in terms of timing.

They noted that this happened after negotiations held by Abdullahian in Damascus and Beirut with high-ranking officials there.

They explained that this happened on the eve of talks that Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will hold in Washington with his American counterpart Anthony Blinken on the 18th of this month.

They added that this coincided with talk of a trilateral meeting of Russian, Turkish and Syrian foreign ministers ahead of the upcoming summit meeting of the Russian, Turkish and Syrian presidents.

It also follows talks held by the defense ministers and intelligence heads of Russia, Turkey and Syria late last month in Moscow.
