Turkish Foreign Ministry Summons Swedish Ambassador

The Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned the Swedish Ambassador and informed him about Ankara’s protest against the activities of the PKK in Sweden, directed against Turkey and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Ömer Celik, spokesman for the Justice and Development Party in Turkey, said: “We condemn in the strongest terms the actions of terrorist organizations in Sweden, Turkey and its president, as well as the activities they have organized on Swedish soil.”

Celik emphasized that it is unacceptable for the Swedish authorities to allow dirty propaganda of terrorist organizations on their territory.

For his part, Turkish presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said: “We reject and condemn the terrorist organizations that target Turkey and its president from Swedish soil … and we have officially communicated our protest, rejection and position to the Swedish official authorities.”

Turkish diplomatic sources said that the Swedish ambassador was informed during his call to the Turkish Foreign Ministry about the need to identify the individuals who targeted Turkey and President Erdogan during the PKK event in Stockholm and demanded that legal action be taken. taken against them.

Sources indicated that the ambassador received an official protest from Ankara condemning the PKK’s activities in Sweden.

He was also asked to inform the Swedish authorities of the need to categorically prevent any actions or activities of terrorist organizations directed against Turkey on Swedish soil.
