Turkish diplomatic source: Erdogan discusses Putin’s proposal to create "gas center" during a meeting with the government

As a Turkish diplomatic source told the Novosti agency, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today, Monday, will discuss with the government the mechanisms for implementing the gas axis project proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, the presidents of Russia and Turkey instructed to work out in detail the issue of creating a gas center in Turkey. After all, it is through this center, in particular, that the Russian gas pipeline can be diverted from the damaged Nord Stream.

Tomorrow, the Turkish government will hold its last meeting of 2022 under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the gas issue will be the main topic of the meeting. This includes linking with the national gas system opened in the Black Sea and the “gas axis” project proposed by the Russian president, the agency’s source said.

It is worth noting that earlier Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that “work is underway to create a gas center in Turkey, and a decision on it can be made in 2023.”
