Turkish security forces have discovered a glider (Paramotor) used by two terrorists in Mersin to enter Turkish territory from Syria.

At an event for the Justice and Development Party of Turkey in the northern state of Giresun, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu confirmed that the two perpetrators of the attack on the police headquarters in Mersin state entered Turkey from the Syrian city of Manbij.

He indicated that the two terrorists flew for 12-13 hours and arrived near the beach in the Tarsus region, Mersin state.

Parts of a glider used by two terrorists were found in the Choplu area on Saturday morning, according to information released by the Anadolu news agency.

Earlier, Soilu said that a police attack in the southern state of Mersin resulted in the death of a policeman and wounding another.

In a statement to reporters last Tuesday, Soylu said the two attackers were women belonging to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party.

He said: “There were clashes between the two terrorists and the security forces, during which the security forces managed to hit the two terrorists, and when they realized that they could not escape, they blew themselves up.”
