Tokayev: Kazakhstan is the birthplace of the Turkic world

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed that the country is interested in strengthening cooperation between the “Turkish states” and bringing it to a new level.

At the ninth Summit of the leaders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) in Samarkand (Uzbekistan), Tokayev added: “Today, the role of the OTC has increased significantly. Kazakhstan is the birthplace of the Turkic world, so we attach particular importance to the development of our comprehensive cooperation. We are interested in further strengthening our cooperation, withdrawing take it to the next level.”

Tokayev noted that in the entire history of the emergence of organizations uniting the Turkish states, most of them were created at the initiative of Kazakhstan. He added: “These organizations have become real leaders in the cultural and spiritual rapprochement of our fraternal peoples.”

Tokayev emphasized the need for solidarity in order to jointly confront all challenges and threats, noting that the current geopolitical and geo-economic contradictions have a negative impact on the economy, transport and logistics system on the Eurasian continent, saying: “There is every reason for our cooperation to be successful. Thanks to active participation in addressing issues of the regional and global agenda, we must become a strong and authoritative force. The existing geopolitical and geo-economic contradictions have a negative impact on the economy, transport system and logistics services on the Eurasian continent. We must stand together to counter all challenges and threats together.”

Tokayev also noted that Kazakhstan is making a great contribution to strengthening and expanding friendly and good neighborly relations between the Turkish countries. A striking example of this is the policy document “Turkish views on the world – 2040”.

Tokayev called on the countries of the Organization of Turkish States (OTG) to strengthen cooperation in the transport sector.

He continued: “Our countries connect West, East, North and South. That is why it is very important to build up the potential of transport and transit communications and make the most of their opportunities. -Caspian International, a transport route that passes through the territories of three fraternal countries, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkey, so we consider the development of the transport and logistics industry a priority.”

He noted that the development of internal transit corridors between Turkish countries is of great importance.

The summit will be held under the motto: “A new stage of Turkish civilization: joint development and on the way to prosperity.”

The summit will be attended by the presidents of Turkey, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kasem and Kyrgyzstan, as well as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban as an observer state, while Turkmenistan will be represented by the head of popular interests in parliament, former President Gurbanguly. Berdimuhamedov.

The Organization of Turkic States is an interstate organization created to expand interaction between Turkic-speaking countries in the fields of politics, economics, science, education, transport and tourism.
