Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexei Chernyak said that the island of Zmeinoye Zmeene in the Black Sea is still under the control of the Russian Navy and Aerospace Forces.

This is stated in a statement by the deputy of the Russian Novosti agency today, Friday, after Russia withdrew its troops from the island as a gesture of goodwill, as yesterday, Thursday, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it confirms that Russia does not interfere UN efforts to organize a Humanitarian Corridor for the export of agricultural products from Ukrainian lands.

Alexey Gromov, Deputy Chief of the Operations Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, later said that Kyiv intended to take the island under its control.

However, Chernyak said: “The special operations forces of the Russian Armed Forces liberated Zmeiny Island from Ukrainian nationalist extremists, repelled several attacks and landing attempts by Ukrainian forces, shot down a large number of aircraft and drones, until the island became under the control of our missiles, fleet and mobile forces. aviation.”

According to him, after the transfer of weapons and rocket artillery from Western countries to Ukraine and in order to save the lives of soldiers, a successful operation was carried out to withdraw from the island, stressing that “tactics in combat conditions can be different, but Russia always thinks in first of all about everything to save the lives of their fighters.

Chernyak added: “Now no one in the world has the right to accuse Russia of creating an artificial hunger crisis, under the pretext of preventing ships from leaving Ukrainian ports and creating a threat to it.”
