The Zambia captain has been excluded from the Women’s African Cup of Nations due to high testosterone levels.

Moroccan website Boulea reported that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has suspended Zambia captain Barbara Banda from the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco due to health reasons.

A Moroccan website, citing identical sources, reported that Banda’s exclusion from the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations was due to her high testosterone levels.

The 22-year-old is regarded as one of the highlights of the Zambian team that kick off their Africa Cup of Nations campaign against Cameroon in the second group today.

The Women’s Africa Cup of Nations events opened yesterday Saturday against Morocco and Burkina Faso and ended with a 1-0 victory for Morocco.
