The Verkhovna Rada deleted the post on Bandera’s birthday "Twitter"

The media reported that a post about the birthday of the leader of the Ukrainian Nazis during World War II, Stepan Bandera, was removed from the official Twitter account of the Ukrainian parliament.

After the post was removed from the account of the Ukrainian parliament, Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Arkadiusz Mulyarchik commented: “Ukrainians” listened to the voice of Poland. This is a sign that they have reacted. does not agree to respect Stepan Bandera, the ideologist of the Ukrainian Nazis, who massacred tens of thousands of Poles in Volhynia.”

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada published on its Twitter account information about the 114th anniversary of the birth of Bandera, attaching a photo of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny to the text.

This angered Poland, and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki then told reporters that he had discussed this issue with his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmygal.

It is noteworthy that the lower house of the Polish parliament adopted a resolution recognizing July 11 as a national day of remembrance for the victims of the genocide committed by the Ukrainian Nazis against the population of the Second Polish Republic in 1943-1945.

The Polish government still considers the Volyn massacre committed by the Ukrainian Nazis against more than 130,000 Poles in Volhynia, eastern Galicia and the southeastern provinces of Poland to be a stumbling block in relations between Warsaw and Kyiv.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian parliament adopted a statement condemning the decision of the Polish parliament to recognize the Volhynia massacre as a genocide. Ukrainian deputies believe that this decision “threatens the political and diplomatic development of the two countries.”

Stepan Bandera is considered the leader of the Ukrainian Nazi brigades and the founder of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army in 1942, which collaborated with the German Nazis in the fight against the Soviet army in World War II.
