The US Secretary of State will visit Palestine and Israel next week.

Jewish media reported Tuesday that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will visit Israel and Palestine next week to meet with their leaders.

The Times of Israel reported, citing a source, that Blinken is expected to hold meetings in Israel on Monday and meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank on Tuesday.

The Palestinian issue, apart from the Iranian nuclear program, is expected to be on his agenda during this tour.

Earlier in January, US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan visited Israel and Palestine, met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli officials and discussed Ukraine, cooperation between Russia and Iran, and security issues in the Middle East.

In Ramallah, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas received Sullivan and called on the US administration to honor its two-state commitments and open a US consulate in East Jerusalem.
