The US House of Representatives decided to form a special committee on China

The US House of Representatives passed a resolution establishing a special representative committee on China.

The council passed the resolution on Tuesday by 365 votes to 65.

The committee will be formally known as the “Strategic Competition Committee between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party.”

The proposal was made by representatives of the Republican Party, which won a majority in the House of Representatives as a result of the recent partial elections to Congress held last November.

“I heard from colleagues from both parties that the threat from China is serious. And I completely agree with this, ”the new speaker of the House of Representatives, Republican Kevin McCarthy, said during a discussion of the resolution.

“The establishment of a special committee on China is the best way to resolve this issue. Do you want to end our dependence on China? The committee is investigating this. Do you want to protect our national security? ,” he added.

The committee is expected to be chaired by Republican Representative Mike Gallagher and will include 7 Republicans and 5 Democrats.

Gallagher and McCarthy voiced their view that the Chinese Communist Party is the “biggest threat” to the United States in a joint op-ed they published on Fox News last December.
