The Syrian Federation issued a statement after failing to sign Brazilian coach Paqueta

On Monday, the Syrian Football Association issued a clarification due to the fact that the Brazilian Paqueta left the training of the Nur Qasioun national team.

The Syrian Federation wrote on its Facebook account: “Regarding the contract of the Brazilian coach Marcos Cesar Diaz Caster (Paquita) as technical director of the Syrian Arab Football Federation, the Federation declares the following: after the arrival of the coach in the Syrian Arab Federation of the Republic on July 6, 2022, after the adoption of the final version of the employment contract between the federation and the coach and his legal representative to work as the director of the technical department of the federation and the supervisor of the first national team, and in order to obtain AFC approval to finance the contract from the frozen funds that they have, the coach signed a declaration that includes his commitment under the final version of the contract and his commitment not to enter into contracts with any organization within 15 days. dated 07.09.2022″.

The statement added: “The Syrian Arab Football Association e-mailed the coach on 20.07.2022, duly signed within the aforementioned deadline, to be finally signed by the coach pursuant to the declaration. and what his legal agent spent on it. And on 07/23/2022, and in view of the fact that there was no response from the coach, the correspondence was repeated explaining the reason for the non-response and fulfillment of the agreed. The answer came on the same day with the coach’s apologies under the pretext that his family does not agree with this, and with untrue reasons and excuses.

And the statement continued: “On 24.07.2022, the Syrian Federation sent a letter to the coach containing the need for him to fulfill the agreed obligations, especially what was included in the declaration signed on 07.09.2022, and also included a response to all his arguments and justifications, which confirm that what he mentioned, especially since he has toured in most (Syrian) regions, he visited the Brazilian embassy (in Syria and in Syria) and received approval to continue the contract. also pointed out that his behavior is a clear violation of what was agreed and what international laws and norms oblige him to work with contracts in good faith, and gives the trade union the right to demand compensation for all material and moral compensation caused to the Federation by these actions.

And the statement continued: “And since the agreed period has expired, and the coach has not reversed his decision and has not apologized for the completion of contract procedures, which confirms his bad faith and his insistence on violating the norms of such contracts, the board of directors of the Syrian Arab Football Federation decided to use all legal methods with FIFA to demand compensation for damages resulting from the coach’s failure to comply with what happened to the market and to demand penal terms agreed in the contract that preserve the right of the federation.
