The Swiss side calls for mediation between Moscow and Kyiv to end the conflict in Ukraine

The Swiss People’s Party called on the Bern authorities to mediate between Russia and Ukraine to end the conflict, noting that Russia cannot be excluded.

According to the Tribune de Genève, the party said: “If Switzerland wants to play its part in resolving this conflict, it must negotiate with both sides, not exclude Russia. Moreover, we do not know how Kyiv will take advantage of the planned summit. in Ukraine to put forward new demands.”

Franz Grotter, a deputy from this party, considers it inappropriate now to talk about restoring the situation in its previous form, since hostilities are taking place on the territory of Ukraine, and a “Marshall Plan” for Ukraine will eventually be required.

The forum on reforms in Ukraine was to be held in Switzerland on the eve of the Russian special operation.

In light of the current situation, Bern wants to turn this event into an “international conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine,” the newspaper quoted President Ignacio Cassis as saying.

The conference on the restoration of Ukraine will be attended by 40 countries and 20 international organizations.
