1 – As part of the outstanding bilateral relationship between Saudi Arabia and France, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman paid an official visit to the French Republic between 27 and 29 July 2022, where he met with French President Emmanuel Macron.

2- During the meeting, a session of official negotiations was held, at which the historical and strategic relations between the two countries, the ways of their development in all areas were considered, and an exchange of views took place on the general current regional and international situation.

3- Discussions included ways to deepen the investment partnership between the two countries by increasing the pace of investment and economic cooperation, expanding cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy, cooperation in the field of clean hydrogen, adherence to the principles of the Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement and the need to develop and implement climate agreements focusing on emissions rather than sources.

4- The negotiations touched upon aspects of the strategic partnership and ways of its development, the importance of stabilizing world energy markets, stabilizing and uninterrupted food supplies of wheat and grain to all countries of the world, maintaining an abundance of supply and price stability.

5. During the talks, the need for a constant assessment of common threats to the interests of the two countries and security and stability in the Middle East region, as well as the importance of strengthening cooperation and partnership in the defense sphere, was emphasized.

6. The discussions also touched upon the importance of resolving international disputes by diplomatic and peaceful means, observing the Charter of the United Nations, the principles of good neighborliness, respect for the unity and sovereignty of states, and non-interference in their internal affairs. affairs.

7. The French side commended the Kingdom’s efforts and support for the truce in Yemen. The Kingdom expressed its appreciation for France’s support for the UN’s efforts to achieve a comprehensive political solution to the Yemeni crisis in accordance with the three references.

8. The talks discussed the support of the two countries for the sovereignty, security and stability of Lebanon, the importance of comprehensive political and economic reforms, expressed satisfaction with the work of the Saudi-French Foundation to support humanitarian activities and assistance in Lebanon. with the highest standards of transparency.

9. The talks focused on convergence of views on the need to intensify efforts to achieve a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian question in accordance with the two-state solution, relevant resolutions with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, in a way that guarantees the Palestinian people their right to creation of its own independent state on the borders of 1967 with its capital in East Jerusalem.

10 – The talks stressed the importance of reaching a political solution to the crisis in Syria that preserves the territorial integrity of Syria and the security of its people. He also touched upon international efforts aimed at preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, ensuring the peace of Iran’s nuclear program and calling on Iran to cooperate fully with the International Atomic Energy Agency, to observe the principles of good neighborliness and non-interference in the internal affairs of the countries of the region.

11. The Crown Prince expressed the Kingdom’s appreciation for France’s support for Riyadh’s candidacy to host World Expo 2030.
