The State Duma called the accusations of the naval blockade of Ukraine nonsense

Crimean State Duma deputy Mikhail Sheremet denied accusations that Russia imposed a naval blockade of Ukraine, calling the accusations nonsense.

Earlier, the former commander of NATO forces in Europe, General Philip Breedlove, said that many Western leaders are now talking about what will happen if Russia starts sinking Ukrainian grain carriers or if the Russian naval blockade continues.

“All their statements are nonsense. There is no naval blockade of Ukraine. Ukrainian ships with grain can leave the ports along the indicated routes, and the Russian side does not interfere in this,” Sheremet told RIA Novosti.

According to him, Western politicians are silent about the fact that the Ukrainian army prevented ships from leaving Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea coast.

“At the request of the Kyiv regime, the waters of the ports were mined, which posed a threat to the safety of navigation in the Black Sea,” the deputy said.
