The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned Bangladeshi Ambassador to Moscow Kamrol Ahsan amid the decision of the Bangladeshi authorities to prevent Russian ships from entering their ports.
“We drew the attention of the head of the diplomatic mission to information about the decision of the authorities of his country to ban entry into its ports for Russian ships carrying cargo to Bangladesh,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The ministry pointed out that “Bangladesh’s decision to ban Russian ships from entering ports does not correspond to the friendly nature of relations and may affect cooperation between the two countries.”
She added: “This step is incompatible with the nature of friendly bilateral relations and may negatively affect the prospects for our cooperation in various fields.”
