The Russian Defense Ministry reported that 6 servicemen of the Western Military District died in a trench in the Kursk region after violating safety requirements when handling combustible materials.

The Russian news agency TASS, citing emergency services, reported that a cache of military personnel was located near the village of Ulanok, Sudzhansky district, Kursk region. The fire broke out around 10:40 on February 20. The source said that the result was an explosion of ammunition.
