The resignation of an important figure in "EasyJet" British

British airline EasyJet has announced the resignation of its operations manager amid problems faced by the low-cost airline and the aviation sector as a result of flight cancellations and crew shortages.

The company said in a statement that Peter Bellio will look for new business opportunities after ensuring a smooth transition from his position to his successor. David Morgan, formerly acting director of operations, will replace Bellio.

“Everyone at EasyJet is focused on delivering safe and reliable operations this summer,” said CEO Johann Landgren.

The announcement comes at a time when the company is cutting flights in the midst of the European summer holiday season.

Airports in the UK and abroad are facing difficulties in recruiting crew members following the lifting of closure measures imposed during the pandemic. The closure measures have resulted in the loss of thousands of jobs in the aviation sector.
