The official representative of the LNR forces, Ivan Filipponenko, announced the imminent liberation of the entire territory of the republic in the near future, pointing to the surrender of dozens of Ukrainian militants.
Filipponenko said on the air of the Russia 1 channel that dozens of Ukrainian soldiers surrendered near the cities of Severodonetsk and Lyshchansk. “The advancing units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were thrown back even further, dozens of Ukrainian servicemen were taken prisoner,” he said.
Earlier, a source reported that a mass surrender of militants of the Nazi battalion Aidar, who had settled at the Azot chemical plant in Severodonetsk, is expected on Thursday evening.
Prior to this, on Thursday, the Lugansk People’s Republic reported that the Zolotoy 2 area had come under the control of Russian and republican forces, and allied forces had also entered Zolotoy 1.
