The Qatar Investment Authority is seeking projects in Cairo to launch projects in Egypt, including a tourist town in El Alamein.

The Qatar Investment Authority intends to launch a number of tourism, hospitality and hospitality projects in Egypt, said Faisal bin Thani Al Thani, head of investment in Africa and Asia at the Qatar Authority.

This happened during a meeting between Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Al Thani, who heads a delegation that includes representatives of the international company Accor for Hotels and Hospitality, which discussed the results of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s recent visit to Qatar. .

The Egyptian prime minister has clarified plans to create a global tourism zone west of the city of El Alamein, on a 6 km coastal strip that attracts 3 million tourists annually.

With regard to the Qatari delegation, Madbouli reviewed the investment opportunities of the hotels, which the Egyptian state intends to open the doors to the foreign private sector to participate in their management.

For his part, Faisal bin Thani Al Thani confirmed that the Qatar Investment Authority is “enthusiastic” in launching projects in Egypt’s tourism and hospitality sectors, whether in existing hotels or through new investment and construction.

In the same context, the CEO of Accor confirmed that they are already in Egypt with investments through the right to use the management of the Sofitel El Gezirah and other hotels.

He added that the company considers Egypt to be one of the three most important investment destinations in the region and that the company has a strong interest in the Egyptian market.
