The President of the Donetsk Republic congratulated Kim Jong-un on the Liberation Day of Korea

The Korean Central News Agency reported Wednesday that President of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin sent a congratulatory message to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on the occasion of Korea’s Liberation Day.

The congratulatory telegram issued by Pushilin says: “The history of the Korean people in the past is full of challenges, and there were many difficulties on the way to freedom, but the Korean people overcame them with courage and dignity. Today, the people of Donbass are also fighting for freedom and historical justice, as the Koreans have done for 77 years.

Today, he noted, “the resilience, courage and strength of the Korean people” are a model for many other countries.

“I believe that mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation will develop between the Donetsk People’s Republic and North Korea for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries,” he added.

In July last year, North Korea recognized the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
