The Pentagon concludes a contract with Raytheon for the production of air defense systems for Ukraine in the amount of $182 million.

The US Department of Defense closed a $182 million deal with Raytheon to produce NASAMS air defense systems for Ukraine.

The Pentagon said in a statement Friday that the system would be completed no later than August 23, 2024.

This comes amid the announcement by the United States of a new package of military assistance to Ukraine worth about $3 billion, which will be provided in stages.

The US administration indicated that assistance would be provided after the signing of contracts between the Pentagon and arms manufacturers, and not from US arsenal reserves.

The assistance package includes 6 NASAMS air defense systems.
