The Norwegian Foreign Ministry regrets the behavior of its consular officer in Murmansk, Russia

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its regret over the behavior of an employee of the Norwegian Consulate in Murmansk Elisabeth Ellingsen.

“The expressed feelings in no way reflect Norwegian politics or the attitude of Norwegians towards Russia and the Russian people. The Ministry is looking into this incident through the appropriate channels,” the Norwegian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Today, Saturday, footage circulated on social media of a Norwegian employee yelling at a Russian hotel employee in obscene terms and saying she hates Russians after the manager asked her to wait until the room she was staying in was cleaned.
