The newspaper writes about the division of Europe because of Russia

The Chinese newspaper The Global Times said that statements about political solidarity in the European Union in the face of the energy crisis are nothing more than nonsense and empty talk.

The newspaper adds in its article: “There are 27 countries in the European Union, and this is clearly not a homogeneous bloc. Some members are heavily dependent on Russian gas, and each country will act according to its own needs and interests. Differences in views will affect the sequencing of Europe’s response to the larger energy crisis.”

The author of the article does not rule out the possibility of mutual concessions between Moscow and Brussels, since the gas shortage, in his opinion, will greatly affect European society and the economy as a whole.

The article continued: “The European Union may ease the economic restrictions imposed on Russia because of European complaints about the economic crisis and the cold winter.”

As for Washington, according to the author of the article, he hopes that Europe will continue to harm itself with the sanctions war against Moscow. “The negative impact of sanctions will further divide and weaken Europe,” he said.
