Over the past few years, humanoid robot technology has made tremendous advancements. Last year, Elon Musk and Tesla unveiled the Optimus robot, while Boston Dynamics regularly updates the capabilities of their Atlas robot. A Texas-based business will present its vision for a general-purpose robot to a select set of attendees at South by Southwest the following month.

Because it collaborated with NASA to commercialize the robot, Apptronik gave its most recent robot the name Apollo. The space agency intends to promote the creation of humanoid robots that might eventually result in a robotic space explorer, even though there are no plans to launch Apollo into orbit. Apollo still needs to be depicted in official photos. Nevertheless, Apptronik has made many films over the past several weeks showcasing a handful of the prototype robots that ultimately influenced the design of Apollo.

CEO Jeff Cardenas said, “Apollo is the robot we’ve always wanted to make.” “The entire world has been created with the human form in mind. It would be really helpful to have a robot with the same size footprint as a person, can use all the same things people do, and can fit in the same spaces.” Watch the video up top to hear more from Cardenas and discover more about Apollo.

Later this year, according to Cardenas of Apptronik, Apollo will be made public, and preorders will be accepted. In 2024, he projects the start of the deliveries.
