The Russian Defense Ministry reported that on Wednesday the situation worsened in the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping forces in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“The situation in the zone of responsibility of our peacekeepers has worsened. In the area of the Saribab highland, Azerbaijani forces violated the ceasefire regime. The command of the Russian peacekeeping unit, together with representatives of the Azerbaijani and Armenian sides, is taking measures to restore stability in the region,” the ministry said in a statement.
Earlier today, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry announced its control over several heights in Karabakh in response to the violation by the Armenian army of the ceasefire agreement in Karabakh signed on November 10, 2020 in Moscow.
