Japanese media have revealed details about a suspect who shot former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

The media reported that the suspect in the assassination attempt, Shinzo Abe, is a 40-year-old former sailor of the Japan Self-Defense Forces, a resident of the city of Nara, where the former prime minister spoke.

The police arrested the shooter, but he did not resist. There is no information about his motives.
