The authorities of Istanbul have banned the holding of mass, cultural, commercial and other events and processions, as well as musical performances on the pedestrian Istiklal Street, where the terrorist attack occurred on November 13.
This decision was made in order to prevent new terrorist attacks in a popular place among residents and tourists, according to the Istanbul Governorate website.
On November 13, a terrorist attack took place on Istiklal Street, a pedestrian street in the central Beyoglu district of Istanbul, which killed six people and injured dozens.
Subsequently, Turkish authorities arrested a woman named Amal Al-Bashir after cameras caught her leaving the scene after the bombing in a taxi. She was reported to have confessed to having links with the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Turkey.
