The head of the Atomic Energy Agency warns of a nuclear catastrophe amid the bombing of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant by Kyiv troops

The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, expressed concern about the bombing of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant by Kyiv forces.

“I am deeply concerned about yesterday’s bombing of Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, which highlights the real danger of a nuclear catastrophe,” Grossi said.

He noted that hostilities that threaten the safety of the nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye “are completely unacceptable and must be prevented at any cost.”

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Ukrainian forces bombed the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.

And the Russian defense warned that artillery shelling by the Ukrainian army of the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant could lead to a major fire and a radiation accident.
