This week, the grocery store chain Harris Teeter, which Kroger owns, announced that it now accepts Apple Pay and other contactless payment methods at more than 250 locations across several states, including North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, Maryland, and a few others.
Earlier this month, genuine Kroger shops in Kentucky and Ohio began accepting Apple Pay after finally adopting NFC technology. Kroger, along with Walmart and The Home Depot, was one of the top retailers in the United States that did not accept Apple Pay when the service first became available in 2014. Despite this, Apple Pay is now accepted at some or all Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, QFC, King Soopers, and Harris Teeter stores nationwide.
Apple Pay is a payment mechanism that enables users to pay with a simple tap of their iPhone or Apple Watch at checkout. This mode of payment is both convenient and safe. Kroger continues to provide its service known as Kroger Pay in addition to Apple Pay. This service needs users to scan a QR code at the checkout to pay using a debit or credit card stored in the Kroger app. Apple Pay is also available.
@HarrisTeeter Could you please make an official comment on the rollout of Apple Pay?
Was it for all stores today?
