The European Union plans to provide Ukraine with additional military assistance for 500 million euros

Secretary General of the European External Action Service Stefano Sanin announced the EU’s intention to allocate an additional 500 million euros from the European Peace Fund for arms supplies to Ukraine.

“We are studying the possibility of providing Ukraine with an additional 500 million euros for arms supplies, bringing the total amount of funding to 2.5 billion euros,” Sanino said at a meeting with MEPs in Brussels.

EU leaders announced for the first time their intention to release a new €500m military aid package, following the completion of four packages previously provided by the European Peace Fund totaling €2bn at the Brussels summit on June 23-24.
