The European Union again cannot accept new sanctions against Russia

The European Union failed to approve a new package of sanctions against Russia after a new round of talks today, Thursday, which was postponed to February 24.

The new package of sanctions will include technologies and dual-use goods, as well as 47 types of electronic components that can be used to manufacture weapons.

It will also include construction equipment. The European Commission estimates the size of this sanctions package at 11 billion euros.

Some EU countries are trying to impose sanctions on the nuclear energy company Rosatom and prevent the import of uranium from it, which is opposed by France, which can disable its reactors without Russian enriched uranium, like Rosatom. operates dozens of nuclear reactors in a number of European countries and continues to build five reactors in Hungary.
