Terrace: Discussing ways to confiscate frozen Russian assets

British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has called for the confiscation of frozen Russian assets and their transfer to Ukraine, and London is currently working on the issue.

In a statement to the British newspaper The Guardian, she said: “I support this idea, and we are looking into this matter closely… Canada just passed a law on this matter.”

“We are working on this with the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Finance, and we just need to get a good understanding of the details of this issue,” she added.

“It is likely that the British Parliament will need to pass a new law allowing for the confiscation of frozen Russian assets… and there may not be a need to amend the law.”

She previously emphasized that “the first thing to do is to give Ukraine all possible support … If Ukraine does not win, the consequences for the rest of Europe will be very serious. NATO’s response to the development of the situation around Ukraine should be to increase the presence of the Alliance in the region, and his presence is enduring, not temporary.
