At a meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad in Tehran, Iran’s shura chairman Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said the Americans, terrorists and resistance opponents have acknowledged that they will not achieve their goals through wars.
Qalibaf stressed that the way to undo the results of the Western embargo is to rely on the people and establish accurate economic programs and plans.
He also praised Syria’s position on bilateral and regional issues and the resistance front.
Speaking about his recent visit to Damascus and talks with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Qalibaf said that they continue to follow the results of this visit, especially in economic, trade and investment issues of mutual interest.
Referring to the latest regional developments, the Speaker of Parliament stated that we must not let these developments, such as the situation in the east of the Euphrates and Idlib and the upcoming issues in Daraa, turn into an old wound, calling for arbitration the language of dialogue and a political solution such as negotiations in the Astana format to resolve this situation.
The Iranian official also warned against the media and the psychological warfare being used by enemies to tighten the noose around the resistance front, pointing out that the enemy is pressuring Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Iran in the context of their media attacks.
The Speaker of the Shura Council stressed the need for resistance and resilience in the face of pressure, building on a popular base and axis of resistance and developing precise plans for dealing with crises and current challenges.
For his part, Miqdad highly appreciated the positions of the leader of the revolution in support of the Syrian people, emphasizing that the unfair policy of the West and America towards Iran and Syria is aimed at supporting Zionist interests.
During a meeting with the speaker of the Iranian parliament, the Syrian Foreign Minister stressed the need to strengthen friendly relations between Tehran and Damascus in order to achieve new victories and joint success in various fields.
