Tehran: Iran’s Responsibility Increases with the Presence of US Forces in the Persian Gulf for Security of the Region and Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the repeated allegations and accusations by US officials against Iran regarding maritime security in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz are “completely unfounded.”

The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s statements came in response to a statement by John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator for the US National Security Council, in which he said the United States had detected repeated Iranian threats to merchant shipping in Persian Gulf waters and that the Pentagon would strengthen its presence in the region.

“The presence of American forces and their destabilizing actions will double Iran’s responsibility to ensure the security of the region and the Strait of Hormuz, as well as to combat violators and criminals,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said. Ministry.

Kanaani said: “Iran is the most effective country in providing maritime security in the Persian Gulf, as well as in regional and international waters, and it has always ensured the unhindered passage of ships and vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.”
He continued: “The latest action taken against the two detained vessels was related to a violation, and this was documented in court orders and aimed at combating behavior and actions that are contrary to international maritime rules.”

Last Saturday, Bloomberg reported that the United States plans to deploy 100 more unmanned boats in the Persian Gulf to patrol against Iran.
