Talks between the Prime Minister of Morocco and the Managing Director for Operations of the World Bank

Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Ahannouche held talks with Axel van Trozenberg, Managing Director of Operations at the World Bank, in Rabat on Monday.

The talks were held with Axel van Trotzenberg, Managing Director of Operations at the World Bank, accompanied by Farid Belhaj, World Bank Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa.

The Prime Minister of Morocco indicated in a statement that “the meeting was an occasion to commend the cooperative relationship between Morocco and the World Bank Group and to discuss ways and means to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two parties, as well as to consider the structural and bold reforms undertaken by the current government in accordance with the directives.”

The Moroccan Prime Minister praised the World Bank’s efforts to support and support development and modernization projects in Morocco aimed at implementing high-priority projects such as universal social protection, public sector reform and the continuation of sectoral strategies.

Ahannouche explained that Morocco is proud to host the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, which will be organized in Marrakech in 2023, when they will again be held in Africa in half a century.
