Foreign Minister of the Taliban government in Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaki expressed condolences to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in connection with the victims of the attack that took place today, Monday, at the Russian embassy in Kabul.
Mottaki confirmed that a thorough investigation into the incident would be carried out.
Earlier today, a gunman detonated an explosive device near the Russian embassy in Kabul, killing two members of the Russian diplomatic mission and killing and injuring dozens of Afghan citizens.
