Sweden’s prime minister resigns after defeat in parliamentary elections

Admitting defeat in the parliamentary elections, Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson submitted her resignation to the Speaker of Parliament Andreas Norlin.

It is noteworthy that on September 11 parliamentary elections were held in the Kingdom of Sweden. With 99% of the votes counted, the right-wing party bloc, represented by the moderate coalition, the liberals, the Christian Democrats and the Swedish Democrats, leads with a score of 49.5%, while the red-green bloc of the ruling parties (the Social Democratic Workers’ Party of Sweden, the Left Party, the Green Party and the Center Party)) with 48.8% of the vote, and each party bloc will receive 176 and 173 seats in parliament, respectively.
