Sunak: I won’t hire Johnson

Prime Ministerial candidate Rishi Sunak has said he will not seek employment for outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson if he is elected as the new leader of the Conservative Party and prime minister.

“I’m not here to give people jobs,” Sunak said in response to a question about the possibility of appointing Johnson as ambassador to Ukraine at a later date.

He added that he did not see a place for Johnson in the British government in the future.

It is noteworthy that former British Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak and Foreign Secretary Liz Terrace have reached the final stage of the competition for the position of the new prime minister.

Party members will vote on September 2, and the results will be announced on September 5.
