Sudan: Lavrov’s visit to Khartoum is an important milestone in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries

Sudanese Ambassador to Moscow Muhammad al-Ghazali called the visit of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to Sudan tomorrow an important step towards strengthening joint cooperation between the two countries.

The ambassador added that Lavrov’s visit to Khartoum will provide an opportunity to take stock of the meetings of the joint committees of the two countries, in particular those held in Moscow in August 2022, and prepare for the next rounds to be held in Khartoum this year.

In recent months, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has made several visits to the countries of the Middle East and Africa, including Iraq and Mali, he is now in Mauritania, and tomorrow he will visit Sudan.

Lavrov’s Sudan agenda for tomorrow includes several important meetings, including: a meeting with Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Al-Sadiq, another meeting with Sovereignty Council Chairman Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and a special meeting with the Sudanese commander. Rapid Support Forces in Sudan, Muhammad Hamdan, nicknamed “Hemedti”.

At the end of his visit to Sudan, Lavrov will hold a press conference at the Khartoum airport and leave immediately.
