Stoltenberg: It is impossible to predict when the war in Ukraine will end

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg declined to speculate about when the conflict in Ukraine will end, as well as assess its possible consequences.

“It is impossible to predict how long the war in Ukraine will last and what its long-term consequences will be,” Stoltenberg said in a statement to the Serbian newspaper Vesti in response to a journalist’s request for clarification on a possible date for the end of the conflict.

“It is important to continue to support Ukraine, no matter how long it takes. Of course, all the military, economic and humanitarian support that we provide to Ukraine has a high price, but the price of not supporting Ukraine will be much higher,” he said. added.

He believed that withdrawing support for Ukraine was against Western security interests because it would “put Europe in a more sensitive position.”
