TORONTO — Montreal’s Adonis (Superman) Stevenson says he’s looking for the knockout when he defends his WBC light-heavyweight title Friday against American challenger Tommy (Kryptonite) Karpency.
The Ricoh Coliseum boxing card is billed as the first world title fight in Toronto in more than 30 years.
Karpency is ranked ninth among light-heavyweight contenders by the World Boxing Council. But bookmakers see the champion as a huge favourite.
Skybet has Stevenson at 1-100 odds, meaning a $100 bet returns only $101.
Stevenson downplays the odds, saying he was a huge underdog when he beat Chad Dawson for the title in 2013.
But the champion expects to win, saying he wants a knockout because KOs sell.
