Rafael Silva, a journalist for the Spanish newspaper Rebelion, has compiled what he considers to be the “most deceitful” statements made by allied leaders at the recent NATO summit in Madrid.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously called the West an “empire of lies”.
In the article, the author describes NATO as “a violent tool to achieve dominance over land, natural resources, energy resources and new markets through force.”
Silva also criticizes statements about the defensive nature of the alliance, as well as NATO’s accusations against Russia.
The journalist believes that statements about the alleged unity of the allies within the bloc also do not correspond to reality.
The journalist also said that NATO’s intention to protect “every inch” of its member states’ territory is false, as are calls for more funding for this “armed and patriarchal organization.”
The journalist called the thesis about the “danger and unpredictability of the world” the meanest of all the statements of the participants in the NATO summit in Madrid.
It is the policies promoted by organizations such as NATO that make the world more dangerous, Silva concluded.
