Spain announces arrest "unmanned submarines" Transport drugs from Morocco

Spanish police announced they had captured 6 unmanned submarines capable of transporting large quantities of drugs from Morocco to Spain and eliminated a gang suspected of making them.

The police said in a statement that its members seized six so-called “drone submarines” and arrested eight people in raids carried out in Barcelona and the provinces of Malaga and Cadiz in southern Spain.

The police said in a statement that this is the first time such devices have been confiscated.

“These devices could allow smugglers to transport large quantities of drugs remotely through the Strait of Gibraltar,” the statement said.

The statement added that the three marches were to be handed over to a French drug gang “to transport large amounts of cocaine.”

Police believe the gang has manufactured unmanned submarines “capable of carrying large payloads” for use by other criminal organizations.
