Souza and Petkovic refuse to coach the Egyptian national team, what is the reason?

Yesterday, Wednesday, the Egyptian Football Association was surprised by Swiss coach Vladimir Petkovic’s apology for taking over the Pharaohs for the coming period, replacing Ehab Galal Al Makal as his post.

Petkovic entered the circle of interests of the Egyptian Football Association after the Portuguese Paulo Sousa also apologized for taking over the training of the Pharaohs.

Media outlets Ahmed Schubert revealed scenes of the duo’s refusal to lead the Pharaohs during radio appearances this Thursday morning, where he said: “The Football Association has terminated all agreements with Paulo Souza to coach the team and Hazem Imam. (Member of the Egyptian federation) was the one who took over the negotiations with the Portuguese coach and everything was set for Sousa to become the new coach of the Egyptian national team.”

Schubert added: “Hazem Imam was surprised by Souza’s apology for not coaching the team and Egyptian fans speculated that the Portuguese coach apologized for preparing the Pharaohs after consulting his compatriot Carlos Queiroz (former Egypt coach).”

He continued: “Hazem Imam prepared an alternative plan in case the negotiations with Paulo Souza failed.”

And he concluded: “After Souza’s apology, Hazem Imam also terminated the agreement with Vladimir Petkovic, and a video conference was to be held with the Swiss coach and members of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Federation to finish everything, but Petkovic called Hazem and apologized for attending the meeting, and he turned off his personal phone.
