South Ossetia reports more frequent provocations on the border with Georgia

The State Security Committee of South Ossetia announced an increase in provocations from the territory of Georgia, damage to engineering structures and barriers used to protect and protect the state border.

“On July 4, near the village of Ksvis, Tskhinvali region, a group of seven young people broke through the border of the state of South Ossetia and broke part of the fence designed to prevent overgrazing. A similar criminal act was committed on July 12 near the village of Grom, Tskhinvali region, where the theft of a border information sign and the destruction of a stationary observation post were recorded.

The State Security Committee considers that the sabotage on the state border, organized and supported by the Georgian regime, is a direct attempt to implement the policy of “erasing” the borders of South Ossetia, and raises doubts about Georgia’s commitment to the pursuit of peaceful dialogue.

The commission emphasized that “all cases of damage to state property in South Ossetia, committed by Georgian agitators, are documented by the Border Guard Service of the KGB of the Republic of South Ossetia and are regarded as criminal acts.”
