South Africa.. Militants broke into the film set and raped 8 women

Gunmen broke into the filming location of the song near a small town in South Africa and raped 8 young women who were taking part in the filming.

South African Police Minister Becky Sealy said Saturday that three of the approximately 20 suspects were arrested following Thursday’s attack on the outskirts of Krugersdorp, west of Johannesburg.

He told reporters that the gang attacked the work crew while the members were preparing equipment and preparing the sets for filming to begin.

He indicated that the young women attacked were between 18 and 35 years old, noting that one of them had been raped by 10 men and the other by 8 men.

The men of the work brigade were also attacked and deprived of their clothes and belongings.

“The suspects appear to be foreigners, especially illegal miners,” Seeley told reporters on the sidelines of a political conference held by the ruling African National Congress on Saturday in Johannesburg.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa announced at the same conference that he had ordered the Minister of Police to “ensure the arrest of the perpetrators of this crime”.

On average, South African police receive a rape report every 12 minutes, and despite this high number, many rapes in the country go unreported.
