Six people have been arrested in connection with the theft of 3 million euros from the home of former Brazilian international striker Ronaldo, sources close to the investigation said on Thursday.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Italian midfielder Marco Verratti was staying at Ronaldo’s home on the Spanish island of Ibiza, but he wasn’t there when thieves stole jewelry and money last Monday.
Sources close to the investigation told AFP that two people were arrested in the port of Denia in eastern Spain and four others were detained in the southern city of Malacca.
According to Spanish press reports, four of the six detainees, in addition to a Spaniard and a Romanian, have Albanian citizenship and are part of an organized gang specializing in robberies.
According to press reports, the Spanish police have returned most of the stolen goods, which are valued at three million euros.
